MOCA celebrates Art Basel at Wynwood Kitchen

Great dinner party at Wynwood Kitchen + Bar for MOCA/Vanity Fair honoring Bruce Weber and Jonathan Meese.

Among the artsy star studded guest list included: MOCA director Bonnie Clearwater, Alonzo and Tracy Mourning, Tony and Janet Goldman, Vanity Fair's Ingrid Sishy, Norman and Irma Braman, Naomi Campbell, Tony Shafrazi, Alan, publicist Paul Wilmot and Anne Roth, Bernie Yuman, and Shepard Fairey.

MOCA Celebrates India with Pop Bollywood




Museum of Contemporary Art’s 6th annual POP fundraiser celebrated movie magic of India with Pop Bollywood on Saturday night. Bollywood actors' Pallavi Sharda, and Manu Narayan, best known for his role in Mike Myer's The Love Guru made an appearance.

MOCA was transformed by vibrant colors and textures that evoke the karmic and exotic essence of India.  Bollywood music and aromas of incense and spices filled the air as guests enjoyed Indian delicacies by Mint Leaf Indian Brasserie and chefs from the Sonesta Hotels, and cocktails by Grey Goose Vodka.  Partygoers will be entertained by Indian dancers, clips of Bollywood films and sitar music while DJ's Hottpants and Shlomi create nirvana on the dance floor.

Cartier sponsored The Ruby Room, a private lounge area for top supporters of MOCA. Hosted by MOCA’s Patron Executive Committee, POP Bollywood was chaired by Lourdes Jofre-Collett and Alan and Diane Lieberman.  Honorary Chairs are Madhu Mehta, President of the India US Chamber of Commerce of South Florida and WSVN 7's Belkys Nerey.

Guest that enjoyed a festive night of music, dance, and Indian culture included: MOCA director Bonnie Clearwater, Norman and Irma Braman, Karla Dascal Rosa and Carlos de la Cruz, Dan and Merle Weiss, Niche media's Jason Binn, Jason and Michelle Rubell, Ocean Drive's Sarah Harrelson, Betty Rosado, Julio Gallo, Jennifer Sybers, Erin Newberg, Alex Duff and Gigi Ganatra.

Cartier and MOCA Kickoff Art Basel Miami Beach

Cartier and MOCA kicked off a much anticipated Art Basel Miami Beach, which comes to town December 6-9. Last night's event was held at the Cartier boutique at Bal Harbour Shops. More than 200 invited guest attended, while samplings of Touch restaurant, Grey Goose vodka, and Cartier champagne flowing throughout the night. A special occasion, that even Frederic de Narp, CEO and president of Cartier North America flew in to join hostesses Christina Getty Maercks, Susan Birbragher, Lisa Pliner, and Allison Weiss Brady. Tennis darling Anna Kournikova was enjoying her Cartier jewelry throughout the night with MOCA Executive Director and Chief Curator Bonnie Clearwater, Miami Modern Luxury president Leslie Wolfson, Donald Pliner with Babydoll, Ocean Drive's Glenn Albin, Irma Berman, Anabela Sotelo, boutique director of Cartier Bal Harbour, socialites Merle Weiss, Norma Quintero, Sarah Harrison, Stephanie Sayfie-Aagaard, Ocean Drive magazine president Alan Randolph, Marisol Patton, Avenue magazine Miami editor Daisy Olivera, and Suzy Buckley, who is doing segments for NBC6, but tonight's segment was preemted by Tropical Storm Noel coverage. Go figure.
