THE BILTMORE HOTEL HOSTS VIP HOSPITALITY SUITE DURING ART BASEL

On Wednesday, December 5, 2007, The Biltmore, along with The Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce, will host a VIP Hospitality Suite for Art Basel Week in Miami Beach. The Biltmore’s Art Basel VIP Hospitality Suite will offer guests complimentary cocktails and canapés in a relaxing lounge area, concierge assistance, mini spa services, and a business center with wireless internet access. Open through Saturday, December 8, the suite will serve as the perfect rest stop for the festival’s attendees to relax, network, or simply get away. In addition, transportation to and from the Biltmore to the VIP Hospitality Suite will be provided courtesy of THE COLLECTION for hotel guests only.

ATTENTION ART LOVERS: If you're heading to the Wynwood Art District and Design District this week...

Art patrons heading to art fairs and galleries in the Miami Design District and Wynwood Art district need to remember parking. For those of you not using cabs or a driver, The Shops at Midtown Miami's parking garage can accomodate 1,200 cars. They're an official Art Basel parking venue and will have a special rate of only $5. The garage is located at NE 31st Street and N.Miami Ave. City of Miami is also providing busses to the various fairs, including Art Miami, Pulse, Scope, Design Miami, and Photo Miami.

Cartier and MOCA Kickoff Art Basel Miami Beach

Cartier and MOCA kicked off a much anticipated Art Basel Miami Beach, which comes to town December 6-9. Last night's event was held at the Cartier boutique at Bal Harbour Shops. More than 200 invited guest attended, while samplings of Touch restaurant, Grey Goose vodka, and Cartier champagne flowing throughout the night. A special occasion, that even Frederic de Narp, CEO and president of Cartier North America flew in to join hostesses Christina Getty Maercks, Susan Birbragher, Lisa Pliner, and Allison Weiss Brady. Tennis darling Anna Kournikova was enjoying her Cartier jewelry throughout the night with MOCA Executive Director and Chief Curator Bonnie Clearwater, Miami Modern Luxury president Leslie Wolfson, Donald Pliner with Babydoll, Ocean Drive's Glenn Albin, Irma Berman, Anabela Sotelo, boutique director of Cartier Bal Harbour, socialites Merle Weiss, Norma Quintero, Sarah Harrison, Stephanie Sayfie-Aagaard, Ocean Drive magazine president Alan Randolph, Marisol Patton, Avenue magazine Miami editor Daisy Olivera, and Suzy Buckley, who is doing segments for NBC6, but tonight's segment was preemted by Tropical Storm Noel coverage. Go figure.
