Remembering Whitney!!!

©MANNY HERNANDEZ Photo Collection

A tragic loss of an amazing superstar that made South Florida her home for many years. Whitney Houston loved Miami, filming movies, recording music, doing music videos, and sunbathing in Sunny Isles.

In 1993, we photographed her at the Sheraton Bal Harbour with then just married Bobby Brown. The couple lived in Williams Island, ate sushi frequently at Hiro's on 163rd, and even hung out with Chaka Kahn at Mansion on South Beach.

Whitney filmed her "Heartbreak Hotel" video with Faith Evans and Kelly Price at the National Hotel and also recorded at Hit Factory in North Miami Beach. Finally we can't forget Whitney and Kevin Cosner filming The Bodyguard at the Fontainebleau Hilton in 1992.

We'll keep your memory alive Whitney!!!

Wynwood has a new bar and hangout. No attitudes at the door, no cover, just a great place to have a cocktail, chat, and listened to some of Miami's top indie DJ's like Lolo and Ryan Evans.

Wynwood Tavern located at 2531 N.W. 2nd Ave. is one of the long awaited needs in the up-and-coming neighborhood. Opened during Art Basel week by owner Cesar Morales, a local Miami nightlife empresario. Coming out to the opening we saw Sean Drake, Carmel Ophir, Doron Ofir, Michelle Leshem, Karelle Levy, Kerry McLaney, Pamela Wasabi and Denis Peters. CHECK OUT MORE PHOTOS FROM OPENING NIGHT

Interesting that Daryl Hall has an online reality show series called Live From Daryl's House.
