Museum of Contemporary Art’s 6th annual POP fundraiser celebrated movie magic of India with Pop Bollywood on Saturday night. Bollywood actors' Pallavi Sharda, and Manu Narayan, best known for his role in Mike Myer's The Love Guru made an appearance.
MOCA was transformed by vibrant colors and textures that evoke the karmic and exotic essence of India. Bollywood music and aromas of incense and spices filled the air as guests enjoyed Indian delicacies by Mint Leaf Indian Brasserie and chefs from the Sonesta Hotels, and cocktails by Grey Goose Vodka. Partygoers will be entertained by Indian dancers, clips of Bollywood films and sitar music while DJ's Hottpants and Shlomi create nirvana on the dance floor.
Cartier sponsored The Ruby Room, a private lounge area for top supporters of MOCA. Hosted by MOCA’s Patron Executive Committee, POP Bollywood was chaired by Lourdes Jofre-Collett and Alan and Diane Lieberman. Honorary Chairs are Madhu Mehta, President of the India US Chamber of Commerce of South Florida and WSVN 7's Belkys Nerey.
Guest that enjoyed a festive night of music, dance, and Indian culture included: MOCA director Bonnie Clearwater, Norman and Irma Braman, Karla Dascal Rosa and Carlos de la Cruz, Dan and Merle Weiss, Niche media's Jason Binn, Jason and Michelle Rubell, Ocean Drive's Sarah Harrelson, Betty Rosado, Julio Gallo, Jennifer Sybers, Erin Newberg, Alex Duff and Gigi Ganatra.
