DAY 1: Market America World Conference at the American Airlines Arena

Market America every year brings its annual World Conference and 20,000 attendees to beautiful Miami to showcase its innovative ways to shop. This year is no exception as they announced the purchase and integration of SHOP.com to the Market America family.

JR and Loren Ridinger, long time residents of our city, own Market America, a product brokerage and internet marketing company specializing in one-to-one marketing.

This weekend is sure to be of great announcements, showcases and many of the couple's celebrity friends. Stay tuned...

Women of Tomorrow celebrate annual gala

Victoria Secret's model and this month's Ocean Drive magazing covergirl Selita Ebanks and Serena Williams attend this year's Women of Tomorrow gala at the Mandarin Oriental hotel.

This year's chair was Marisa Toccin, Madeline and Micky Arison, Honorary Chairmen, Lora and Fred Drasner, Legacy Builder Honorees, Jason and Haley Binn, Empowerment Award Honorees, Sharon Siegel, President & Founder of DECO Productions & Grande Affaires, Excellence Honoree and Karen Piazza, Mentor of the Year.

An initial study showed a statistically significant improvement in the self-esteem of the young girls participating in the program. Recent analysis has shown that Women of Tomorrow Mentees demonstrate a statistically significant increase in their grade point averages (GPA) each year they are involved in WOT. In addition, WOT Mentees graduate from high school at close to a 90% rate compared to county-wide high school graduation rates that hover around 60%.

Currently, the Women of Tomorrow program is implemented in 99 Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach County public high schools in 42 South Florida cities and serves 2,000 mentees with its network of 250 mentors. Since the inception of its Scholarship Program in 2000, WOT has awarded over $2.3 million in scholarships to 838 WOT Mentees.

The Women of Tomorrow Mentor & Scholarship Program was founded in 1997 by Author & Television Journalist Jennifer Valoppi and Telemundo Network President, Don Browne.

Celebrities come out for the Dolphins/Colt game at Land Shark Stadium

Celebrity owners Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, Serena and Venus Williams attended Monday nights Dolphins/Colts game at Landshark stadium.

Among the other celebrities in attendance included 3 time Indy champ Helio Castroneves, rapper T-Pain and a pre game performance by co-owner Jimmy Buffett.

Despite the star power, Dolphins lost a close one to the Colts 27-23.
