ING presents the 2008 Amigo's for Kids Celebrity Domino Gala



Amigo's for Kids, a non-profit organization that helps abused, abandoned, and less fortunate children in South Florida, celebrated its signature annual fundraiser, ING Miami Celebrity Domino Night at the Miami Beach Convention Center. This year marked ING’s fourth year as the event’s title sponsor.
Republica's Jorge Plasencia, who is also the co-founder and president of Amigo's, joined guest ING's Javier Palomeres, Versailles owner Felipe Valls, Jr. with wife Lourdes, Miami commissioner Joe Sanchez, Padre Alberto, Sam Duque, Michael Scull, artist George Sanchez-Calderon, Cevera's Andres Ansion, pop artist Carlos Navarro, Remedios Diaz Oliver with husband Fausto, Congress candidates Raul Martinez and Joe Garcia, Univision network president Ray Rodriguez with with Liana, Deco Drive's Louis Aguirre with Gingi Beltran, Amigo's co-founder Rosanna Fernandez, Ricky Arriola, Ivette Arrango, radio personality Javier Ceriani, Cuban icon Olga Guillot, Telemundo's Rashel Diaz, Univision's Giselle Blondet, Miami Dade county mayor Carlos Alvarez, Maxim magazine model Mayra Veronica, Ocean Drive en Español editor Fifi Castany, recording artist Ana Cristina, Caribe TV's Graciela Mori and Fernando Castell, Adrienne Arsht Center of the Performing Arts' Suzette Espinoza, Maria Laria, Miguel and Rachel Larrea, Jimmy and Vivian Quiroga, Rick Sanders with Maggie Valls, Miami Beach Mayor Matti Herrera-Bower, Executive director of Amigo's Rosa Maria Plasencia, Alina Mayo Azze and performance by Hansel.
ING Miami Celebrity Domino Night ’08 took guests on a nostalgic stroll down a 1950s Cuban boulevard where palm trees sway to the music of days gone by and lead them into a modern-day domino supper club. Highlights included cocktails courtesy of Dewar’s 12, live musical performances by Suenalo and a very special performance by Hansel y la Orquesta Calle Ocho. Showgirls, a typical Cuban Trio, tumbadores and Salsa King dancers contributed to the evening’s tremendous ambiance. One of the highlights of the evening was the presence of legendary Cuban Bolero Queen, Olga Guillot. Guillot is one of the greatest voices of Cuban music and a true representation of Havana of the ‘50s.


Cocktails for the night were provided by Dewar's 12 and local restaurants and caterers donated their services to provide dinner-by-the-bite that included Versailles, China Grill, Tuscan steak, Cafe Pilon, Blu Martini, Pasta Factory, Giardino gourmet salads, Fork and Knives, Paellas R Us, El Sembrador, Mena Catering, Papa John's, Miami Gourmet, Maya, Edda's cake design, La Cubanita, Le Basque Catering, Rowland Coffee and MALTEX.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors and the thousands of children we are able to reach every year”, stated Jorge A. Plasencia, Chairman of the Board and Co-Founder. “We extend our appreciation to all attending the event. Amigos Together For Kids was founded in 1991 to respond to the diverse needs of South Florida’s abused, abandoned, neglected and less-fortunate children. Amigos creates awareness for its cause through public service campaigns and high-profile fundraising events.
Throughout its 15-year history, Amigos has come to the aid of South Florida’s most valuable natural resource - its children - in a variety of ways. As part of its mission, Amigos offers numerous programs for these children in the inner-city across South Florida.

Related celebrates opening of newest residential building, 50 Biscayne

More than 500 invited attended the grand opening celebration of Miami's newest member to it's skyline, 50 Biscayne. Miami Mayor Manny Diaz, Miami Commisioner Joe Sanchez, Miami Police Chief John Timoney joined Related Group CEO Jorge Perez and wife Darlene in the Cirque du Soleil-style celebration. Republica celebrates its first anniversary

Republica, the pr, branding and ad firm founded by the ever popular Jorge Plasencia and Luis Casamayor, celebrated its first year anniversary at the Gary Nader Botero Warehouse in the Wynwood art district.
