Buoniconti Fund celebrates 25th anniversary with NYC star-studded gala
Miami socialites reunited in the big apple to celebrate the 25th Sports Legend dinner, benefiting the Buoniconti Fund at the Waldorf-Astoria.
Among the evening's highlights aside from the sports legends included a $10 million dollar donation by philanthropist Christine Lynn, an additional $2 million dollar donation by Stewart Rahr, and a surprise visit by the 42nd President of the United States, William Jefferson Clinton.
Legends and Miami socialites in attendance, Nick and Marc Buoniconti, Dan Marino, Michael Irvin, Bill Russell, Romero Britto, Donald Trump, Russell Simmons, Jack Nicklaus, Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Tom Brokaw, Nacho Figueras, Willie Mays, Buzz Aldrin, and performances by The Pointer Sisters and disco queen Donna Summers.
An incredible night.

Star-Studded Gala, Featuring Runway Collection by America’s Leading Fashion Designer Michael Kors, Will Take Place at Bal Harbour Shops in South Florida
The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis is proud to announce that multi-platinum recording artist and three-time Grammy winner SEAL will be the musical headliner at Destination Fashion 2009 on Saturday, March 7th at Bal Harbour Shops. American designer and style icon Michael Kors will be in attendance to personally showcase his exclusive Fall runway show, presented by Saks Fifth Avenue Bal Harbour, at this high-profile event in South Florida. Grammy Winners The Pointer Sisters will also perform.
“We are thrilled to have the preeminent American Designer Michael Kors show his fashions and Seal as our entertainment headliner for Destination Fashion this year, along with the dynamic Pointer Sisters,” stated Nick Buoniconti. “Their involvement will certainly drive turnout for this important event, which will in turn raise much-needed funds for our efforts to cure paralysis.”

Proceeds from Destination Fashion 2009 will directly benefit The Buoniconti Fund, the fundraising arm of The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis.
