He's Miami top event's caterer, has Barton G-The Restaurant on West ave for the last 8 years, has Prelude restaurant at the Adrienne Arsht Center and now his latest venture, The Villa by Barton G.

Barton G. Weiss transformed the former Casa Casuarina, to its splendor, when Gianni Versace lived there. The Villa will be South Florida's most exclusive boutique hotel, restaurant and venue. Room rates start at around $2,000 per night, if available.

During our recent tour of the mansion, our tour guide gave us tidbits of the Versace heyday, of where Madonna stayed, Elton John's room, and where Donatella brushed her hair. Actually quite amusing.

The place is a landmark!!!

Desperate Housewives Eva Longoria-Parker spent a fun-filled birthday this past weekend in Miami. On Thursday, Eva celebrated with a chocolate cake at DeVito's on South Beach. Eva stayed at Casa Casuarina, shopped at local boutiques on 8th and Collins and had another private birthday on Fisher Island on Saturday night with a vanilla rum flavored cake by Edda's Cake Designs. Feliz Cumpleaños Eva!!!

Every year at the South Beach Food and Wine festival one of the most anticipated events is the AMEX After event, which this year took place at the former Versace mansion, Casa Casuarina. Among the guest that enjoyed the catering of Barton G and drinks from Absolut Spirits/Plymouth Gin included a who's who of celebrity chef: Rachael Ray and husband John Cusimano, Johnny Vinczencz, Michelle Bernstein, Govin Armstrong, Tyler Florence, Katie Lee Joel, Giada De Laurentiis and husband Todd Thompson, and Lee Brian Schrager, founder and director of the SBFW.
