Gen Art held a new and innovative fashion event, FASHIONscape, last night at the Delano with chosen designers Claudia Estrada under the label claudiae and John D. Schoemann designing for John David Collection.
“I’m so excited for people to see my work for the very first time and on this scale. Up until now, all of my money and resources have gone into the actual clothes, so this amazing opportunity to gain exposure for my brand has come at the perfect time”, says designer John D. Schoemann of John David Collection. Designer claudiae is especially excited about the format of the event, “I’m so happy to be involved in this show because it allows for more creativity than a standard fashion show…it highlights the more artistic side of fashion”.
Gen Art holds an annual fashion show each spring in Miami around the time of Miami Fashion Week and this year it featured non-traditional fashion presentation showcasing two of Miami’s hottest up and coming design talent. Each designer showcased their new collections on live models in fashion vignettes with dynamic lighting and music. This unique format allows the designers to create a cohesive mood and environment for their looks and allows industry and audience to get an up-close and intimate view of the designer's vision.
In its sixth year of showcasing new designers in Miami, Gen Art’s inaugural FASHIONscape emphasizes the organization’s continued commitment to the growth of independent and spirited Southeast fashion talent.
“Having previously produced this concept in LA, we are thrilled to bring it to Miami to highlight our own fashion talent here, and we couldn’t ask for a more glamorous backdrop than Delano Orchard”, says Gen Art Miami Director, Andrea Aberegg.
Guest included: Gen Art's national director of events, Monica Glass, Miami promoters Tommy Pooch and Alan Roth, former president of Epic Records Charlie Walk, 944 Miami Managing Editor Hadley Henriette, Jungle Island's Brigette Grosjean, NFAA Elyze Held, Aaron Glickman, Erin Newberg, Max Pierre, Channel 7's Vanessa Ruiz, and Miami Modern Luxury's Anne Owen.
Principal sponsors of Gen Art’s FASHIONscape included 944 Magazine, Delano, Grey Goose Vodka, PLUM TV, hair by Cutler and makeup provided by MAC.
A portion of ticket proceeds benefited the Gen Art Foundation.
