The Regent Bal Harbour, and Bon Appetit magazine Fête Mark Militello to 1 Bleu





Guenter H. Richter, general manager of The Regent Bal Harbour, and Bon Appetit magazine executive editor Victoria von Biel hosted a welcoming reception for South Florida’s most celebrated chef, James Beard award recipient Mark Militello. Militello, who has recently been appointed executive chef, will be overseeing 1 Bleu and The View Bar.

Guest included, Sunglass Hut founder Sanford Ziff, Telemundo network president Don Browne, CBS 4 Lisa Petrillo and husband Bill McCue, NBC 6 Jeff Burnside, Miami Herald's Shelley Acoca, artist Gustavo Novoa, Peter Johnston and Michael Milne with Moet Chandon, and Peter Zuckerman.

Attendees also enjoyed Militello’s stellar contemporary American cuisine with passed hors d’oeuvres including rabbit and foie gras wontons, lobster salad canapes on brioche rounds with caviar and peeky toe crab cakes, along with wine, champagne and specialty cocktails. Guest were welcomed with an elaborate shellfish station overflowing with stone crab claws, oysters, tuna ceviche and chilled shrimp; risotto and gnocchi stations and a grand carving station featuring roasted rack of lamb and chateaubriand of beef. Talented young pastry chef John Luciano showcased 1 Bleu’s acclaimed pastry department with an assortment of sweet creations.
