Baroness Philippine de Rothschild, owner of the famed house begun by her great-great grandfather, hosted a dinner and exhibition of the original paintings commisioned for Mouton Rothschild wine labels. The Baroness was accompanied by her husband Jean-Pierre de Beaumarchais.
Past renowned artist commisioned included: Jean Cocteau, Salvador Dali, Joan Miro, Andy Warhol, Marc Chagall, Pablo Picasso, Keith Hering, Francis Bacon and Rufino Tamayo, among others.
The nights dinner was crafted by world-renowned chef Daniel Boulud and paired with a special selection of wines from Chateau Mouton Rothschild.
Senior Vice President of Sotheby’s, Jamie Ritchie conducted a wine auction, also from a vintage selection of the renowned wine brand. All proceeds benefited the museum.
Among the esteemed guest included: Milton and Patricia Wallace, Ambassador Paul and Trudy Cejas, famed photographer Iran Issa Khan, Susan Grant Lewin, Gingi Beltran, Dr Sanford Ziff, Dolores Ziff, Tom Austin and Wolfsonian director Cathy Leiff.
The exhibition runs at the Wolfsonian museum through March 8. MAP NOW
