Renowned the world over for his attention to detail and quirky sense of humour, Ted Baker is celebrating the grand opening of his fabulous new flagship store at Aventura Mall, Thursday, February 7 from 6pm to 9pm. What’s more as well as experiencing Ted’s divine spring collections over a few tipples, guests will enjoy the company of the man himself for the evening.
The event will also be hosted by a committee comprised of Michael Capponi, nightlife impresario and developer, and his model wife, Erin Henry; Frank Kelly, Esquire magazine’s “America’s Best Dressed Real Man” and friend, Katrina Campins, founder of the Campins Company and star of the first season of The Apprentice; Dana Shear, co-owner and sales executive of Shear Construction and Development; Vivianne Kurzweil, Miami socialite; and Susie and Walid Wahab, a notable society couple and owners of Wahab Construction.

Like all Ted Baker stores, Aventura was bespoke designed by Ted. With a giant gilt frame around the store frontage, from the outset it’s obvious that this is certainly no ordinary store. Who better than Ted to explain the inspiration for the store’s décor:

“The store brings classic English design to life, Miami style. A regal white swan, owned by Queen Elizabeth II herself – as all swans are in the UK – is juxtaposed with a pink flamingo - Miami’s poster bird. Oversized British landscapes are painted in unexpected neon colours. While a classic Chesterfield seating area has been created in gold leather and lamé to reflect the glamour and decadence of Miami’s famed nightlife. I think it’s one of my finest designs to date.”

While Ted Baker started out as a shirt specialist in Glasgow in 1988, these days he’s much, much more. In addition to his delectable womenswear, menswear and kidswear collections, he’s brought his unique vision to fragrances, watches, eyewear and mobile communications. In fact, with some thirty stores around the world as well as XX in the UK, Ted Baker is very much a global lifestyle brand. Or as Ted prefers to put it, ‘No Ordinary Designer Label.’
