JAMES CAAN AND GEORGE HAMILTON HELP OPEN BOURBON STEAK AT THE FAIRMONT TURNBERRY ISLE RESORT & CLUB IN AVENTURA

South Florida movers and shakers came out in force to enjoy the grand opening of nationally renowned celebrity chef Michael Mina’s first foray into South Florida, BOURBON STEAK MIAMI at the newly renovated Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club. The restaurant, with its gorgeous glass box design and glittering mirrored walls, is a welcome addition to South Florida’s dining scene –and sure to be a see and be seen destination.

Michael Mina graciously welcomed guests to the spectacular new modern steakhouse; attendees included Fairmont Turnberry Isle owner Donald Soffer who was entertaining personal friends George Hamilton and James Caan, City of Aventura Mayor Susan Gottlieb, developer Ugo Colombo, socialite Iran Issa Khan, and the project’s designer, Bill Paley of Tony Chi and Associates, the restaurant’s designer. South Florida’s most prominent chefs came out to support the new venture including Mark Militello, Allen Susser, Clay Conley and Gerdy Rodriguez, attorney Alan Tempkins, Miami Herald's Lesley Abravanel, publicist Stacey Benedetti, and music by DJ Tracy Young. Guests nibbled on Japanese a-5 Kobe beef strips, American Kobe sliders and pork short ribs, as well as delicious passed hors d’oeuvres including lobster corn dogs, tuna poppers, and cumin dusted tempura prawns, among other Mina specialties. Guests also enjoyed a sumptuous raw bar featuring oysters, stone crab claws, clams and lobster and shrimp cocktails.
