Miami City Ballet’s NIGHTSPOT World Premiere Celebration with Twyla Tharp and Elvis Costello


Miami City Ballet, the internationally-acclaimed dance company under the artistic direction of Edward Villella, hosted a World Premiere Celebration at Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. The event commemorates the first performance of a brand-new work NIGHTSPOT created for Miami City Ballet’s dancers by world-renowned modern dance choreographer Twyla Tharp, set to music by singer-songwriter Elvis Costello, with costumes designed by Isaac Mizrahi and lighting by John Hall.
Other VIP guest and donors to the Miami City Ballet included: World Premiere Celebration committee chairs: Rosalind Richter, Gerry LeBow, Tina Carlo. Also Dan Carlo, Lola Jacobson, Marvin Ross Friedman, Adrienne Bon Haes, Toby Ansin, James Ansin, Charlie Cinnamon, Miami Herald's Shelley Acoca, Morton Aagaard with wife Stephanie Sayfie-Aagaard, Mark and Alison Zhuk, Marisa Toccin, Alex Duff, Gigi Ganatra, Jillian Jacobson-Altit, and Neiman Marcus' Stephen Brunell.
